Pike Place Market renovates with Aluminum Full View Doors

Seattle’s renovated and updated Pike Place Market, now has Wayne Dalton Full View Aluminum Doors Model K-AL  at the center of all the action. In an effort to reconnect Seattle’s urban core to its waterfront, The Miller Hull Partnership, an architecture and interior design firm, recently expanded Pike Place Market, the city’s oldest public farmers’ market, with a new 14,000-square-foot plaza called MarketFront. In addition to a multi-path promenade, wide seating steps and two levels of retail space that sit west of the iconic 111-year-old market, the new structure includes a pavilion that was built using Model K-AL Aluminum Full-View doors to allow for an unobstructed view of the Elliott Bay waterfront.

Local Wayne Dalton dealer Crawford Door installed 20 of these doors and customized tracks to fit within the complex structure.

“It was Wayne Dalton’s ingenuity and ability to fulfill the custom order that pushed us ahead of other potential garage door suppliers for this project,” said Dirk C. Leachman, Wayne Dalton District Sales Manager - Northwest. “All Wayne Dalton products used on site were proudly manufactured at our plant in Portland and easily fulfilled the design team’s mission to build on the market district’s historic character while adding contemporary flair.”

Known for being sturdy, as well as virtually maintenance-free and weather-resistant, the Model K-AL Aluminum Full-View doors can be raised and lowered throughout the day to create a seamless indoor-outdoor experience for the farmers and artists who will use the space to sell their goods and customers alike.
