Throughout the month of October 2014, Wayne Dalton employees around the country celebrated a huge milestone, our 60th anniversary. We wanted to share a letter from Kelly Terry, ASD Division President, which went out to our employees today:
The year was 1954. Elvis Presley had just broken onto the music scene, a gallon of gasoline was 20 cents, and "From Here to Eternity" won the Academy Award for Best Picture.
At the same time, in the quiet community of Mount Hope, Ohio, an Amish woodshop was positioned to grow into the business that it is today – Wayne Dalton, the brand that is dedicated to the success of our dealer partners.
Today, Wayne Dalton is an industry leading brand that is supported by over 2,000 team members in more than 65 locations in the United States and Canada. Though much has changed since the '50s, the Wayne Dalton promise and commitment to our customers remain the same.
Wayne Dalton has been both resilient and responsive to the changing times. But, at the end of the day, a brand is only as strong as the company and team members behind it. So all the Wayne Dalton celebrations at our locations this month are as much about you as they are this historic milestone.
As we celebrate
Wayne Dalton's 60th anniversary this year, I want you to take a moment to reflect back on how far we've come. While you might not be able to see a movie for 70 cents or buy a new car for $2,000 anymore, one thing remains true – the commitment the Wayne Dalton team has to supporting our dealers with innovation, as well as outstanding products and service.
Thank you for all you've done to support the Wayne Dalton brand and our customers. I look forward to celebrating many more milestones together.
