Wayne-Dalton's prodrive ® Garage Door Opener with Z-Wave Technology has been named one of Professional Builder magazine's "100 Best New Products" for 2008.
The 100 Best New Products Award was created to recognize innovations, highlighting manufacturers that are investing in research and development. Announced annually, these awards are chosen by Professional Builder editors based upon:
- Technological Advances
- Significant Product Improvement
- New Product Lines
- Increased Product Lines
- Nationwide Availability
Products are judged in 10 different categories including exteriors, interiors, windows and doors.
Wayne-Dalton's prodrive opener is ceiling-mounted and comes in belt or chain drive models. The integrated Z-Wave ® technology allows homeowners to take the opening or closing of their garage door a step further. The 3-button remote activates a Z-Wave home control scene that can control garage lights, outdoor security lights, indoor pathway lighting, security systems, thermostat controls and more.
The opener is compatible with all Z-Wave-enabled products and is part of a larger offering of home control products from companies within the Z-Wave Alliance. More than 160 leading building industry and technology companies manufacture home control products as part of the Z-Wave Alliance. Wayne-Dalton is a principle member of this group.
"We're very proud at Wayne-Dalton to receive this award from Professional Builder magazine," said Jeff Franklin, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Sales Marketing, Distribution & New Business Ventures. "The Z-Wave-enabled prodrive garage door opener expands our commitment to giving the homeowner a customized approach to convenience, safety and security for the primary entry point into the house. It is an excellent example of how we continue to develop and integrate Z-Wave innovation into our products."
Z-Wave is a two-way wireless technology that works through a radio frequency mesh network. All devices in the network act as repeaters, thus increasing their reliability. Up to 232 devices can be installed in a single Z-Wave network. Consumers enjoy all the benefits of increased comfort, convenience, security, safety and energy conservation at an affordable price. The system is also scalable so that additional home products can be added later.
"Z-Wave integration in our openers truly changes the face of garage door industry technology," said Franklin.
