WAYNE-DALTON OFFERS FIRST FIBERGLASS-CLAD GARAGE DOOR
Mt. Hope, Ohio (May 22, 2006) – True to its history of innovation, Wayne-Dalton introduces the industry’s first garage door to offer the look and feel of real wood without the high cost and maintenance hassles. The revolutionary Model 9800 fiberglass-clad door combines the realism of wood with the insulation benefits of its steel inner shell.
“We’ve made a commitment to continually push the envelope in garage doors, and the evolution to fiberglass represents an important step,” said Bill Earnest, Wayne-Dalton’s director of marketing and product management.
The most striking aspect of the doors is the deep, enriched wood-grain pattern of the fiberglass. The exclusive hi-def graining creates a natural wood look with amazing fidelity.  While other manufacturers may offer a wood grain steel door, it is extremely difficult to match the realism of the Wayne-Dalton fiberglass-clad garage door.
“This door represents our continued commitment to both form and function,” said Earnest.
By integrating a fiberglass surface, consumers will benefit from increased energy efficiency and won’t have to deal with the warping or splintering that can happen with wood doors. In addition, the durable, easy-care surface can be painted or stained to suit a homeowner’s specific needs. Current available factory stains include mahogany, oak and walnut, and more will be introduced later this year.

Additional door features include pinch-resistant panel joints for safety and an R-7.3 polyurethane foamed-in insulation that cuts energy costs and reduces noise. The doors are available through Wayne-Dalton dealers in heights of 6 ˝, seven or eight feet and in widths of eight, nine, 16 or 18 feet.
