Wayne-Dalton Entertains Record Crowd at International Builder Show

The newest product to get the builder’s adrenalin flowing was the premiere look at the new Designer Series Doors. These are doors that offer the aesthetic looks of carriage house designs yet are made of durable, easy-to-maintain steel. Wayne-Dalton plans to launch the product later in 2004. Also showcased was Wayne-Dalton’s new version of its innovative garage door opener, the idrive, which works on doors with torsion spring counterbalances. idrive is Wayne-Dalton’s exclusive opener that attaches directly to the wall above the door, eliminating the bulky rail that normally extends into the garage. Previously, the idrive only worked for TorqueMaster, Wayne-Dalton’s unique counterbalance system that encloses the springs inside a steel tube. Many homes, however, utilize exposed torsion springs since they have been in existence for a much longer time. The new idrive model for torsion springs allows people to enjoy the opener’s unique features on their existing torsion spring doors. It also allows them to use the opener on doors such as wood Carriage House doors where TorqueMaster is not available. For years, people have looked at a garage as nothing more than simply a place to park cars, or store clutter. However, Wayne-Dalton is helping to redefine the role of the garage and the International Builder's Show was the perfect place to continue the transformation. Builders got to see how the Designer Series doors dramatically increases the looks of the garage on the outside, and how the idrive openers dramatically increases the looks of the garage on the inside. This combination strengthens Wayne-Dalton’s approach of offering the garage door and opener as one complete system. Wayne-Dalton was also featured on two hit radio shows, On the House with Jim and Morris Carey, and Homefront with Don Zeman. Between the two, millions of listeners got to hear about the many attributes of the idrive opener.
