Upward Acting Sectional Doors Thermospan® 200 & Thermospan® 200-20 Specifications 08360/WAY - BuyLine 0261 Note to specifiers: Words in parenthesis indicate options that need to be specified. PART I- GENERAL 1.01 Work Included A) The sectional doors will be Wayne-Dalton Models (Thermospan® 200) or (Thermospan® 200-20) as manufactured by Wayne-Dalton Corp. 1.02 Related Work A) Opening preparation, miscellaneous or structural metal work, access panels finish or field painting, field electrical wiring, wire, conduit, fuses, and disconnect switches are in the Scope of Work of other divisions or trades. PART II PRODUCTS 2.01 Door Sections A) Door Sections will be of steel/polyurethane/steel sandwich type construction to include a thermal break and have a calculated "R"-value of 17.59 (Thermospan 200) and 17.46 (Thermospan 200-20), in accordance with industry guidelines. The exterior skin of structural quality, hot-dipped galvanized .015" (min.) steel, with non-repeating random stucco texture will be factory-finished with baked-on polyester primer and white polyester finish coats, and features 1/4" wide pinstriping. Thermospan 200- 20 doors will have a 20 ga. flush exterior steel skin. The interior skin will be .015" (min) structural quality, hot-dipped, galvanized steel, factory-finished with a polyester primer and white polyester finish coats.The interior skin will have two 1-3/4" roll-formed integral struts per section. Ends of sections have full-height 18 ga. (min.) (16 ga. available) hot-dipped galvanized steel end caps. The void between theinterior and exterior skins will be completely filled by foamed-in-place CFC free polyurethane core andseparated by a factory extruded thermal break. Doors will be equipped with factory-installed joint seals between sections, a top seal on the top section to seal against the header, with a two-piece"bulb" shaped astragal for the bottom section. Air infiltration will be independently tested at less than or equal to .07 CFM per square foot of door area, in accordance with ASTM E-283- 91 at a pressure difference of .122" H2O - 15 MPH. 2.02 Track A) All track, vertical mounting angles and brackets will be commercial quality steel minimum 16 ga. thickness, hot-dipped galvanized. Track is (2") (3") standard or as specified. Vertical track to be graduated providing wedge type weathertight closing with (continuous angle mounting for wood jambs) (continuous reverse angle mounting for steel jambs), and are fully adjustable to seal door at jambs. Horizontal track will be reinforced with continuous angle of adequate length and gauge to help prevent deflection. 2.03 Hardware A) Hinge & Roller Assembly - All hinges and brackets will be made from hot-dipped, galvanized steel. Track rollers will be case-hardened inner steel races with 10-ball, (two-inch rollers) (three-inch rollers). All factory authorized attachments will be made at locations indicated and reinforced with additional backup plates. 2.04 Counterbalance A) Springs will be torsion type, low-stress, helical wound, oil-tempered spring wire to provide minimum 15,000 (25,000 standard for Thermospan 200-20) cycles of use - or meet specified cycles - on continuous steel shaft; (solid CRS). Spring fittings and drums will be made of die cast, high-strength 2.06 Locks 2.07 Glazing 2.09 Options 3.01 Install Thermospan® 200 & 200-20 Specifications pg.2 aluminum. Pre-formed galvanized steel aircraft cable shall provide a minimum of a 5:1 safety factor. (Long life springs of 25,000, 50,000 or 100,000 cycles may be specified and are recommended for high usage doors). 2.05 Weatherstripping A) (Optional field-installed jamb/perimeter seals are available). A) Will engage the right-hand vertical track and utilize an interior side lock. (Optional standard size rim cylinder short lock bar or 2" track double lock bar, including recessed aluminum exterior step plate, engages both vertical tracks). A) (will be sealed 1/2" insulated glass window units - 24" x 6" - set in two-piece molded high-impact polymer frames) (1/4" single pane glazing available). (Prepainted aluminum full view sections also available with various choices of glazing materials). 2.08 Windload A) Per DASMA 102-2003 and as required by local codes. A) Chain hoist or motor operator. PART III EXECUTION A) The doors in accordance with Wayne-Dalton Corp. instructions and standards.
