Wayne-Dalton Develops Fabric Shield Panels for Hurricane Protection

Wayne-Dalton has extended its commitment to protect homes beyond the garage. With the innovation of Fabric-Shield™ Storm Panels, Wayne-Dalton has been recognized as an industry leader in hurricane protection.
The Wayne-Dalton Fabric-Shield Division has been authorized to develop an Installation Certification program for the International Hurricane Protection Association (IHPA). The four- to eight-hour Advanced Installation Training course is being lead by Wayne-Dalton’s Darius Grimes, a recent speaker at the Governors Hurricane Conference on testing standards and approval of hurricane shutter systems.
The IHPA Certification Course will properly train attendees to understand manufacturer-approved engineering documents regarding fastener spacing, anchor selection, proper attachment types and proper anchor instillation. The course will also teach proper procedures for permitting hurricane shutter installations in the State of Florida.
“The course will be recognized by the State of Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board and provide American Institute of Architects continuing education credits for architects, contractors and builders inspectors,” said Greg Galloway, business manager – storm protection products at Wayne-Dalton. “The Wayne-Dalton designed course will also be taught at the Building Officials Association Conference and the IHPA Conference coming up in 2007.”
IHPA is an industry leader on all issues that affect the hurricane protection industry by unifying the suppliers, manufacturers, contractors, engineers, architects, code writers, and government officials.
